About

Learn how a background in cross-border product development inspired a needs-first shopping planning tool.

About this project

Why this tool exists

Smart Shopping Assistant was created to help people make more thoughtful shopping decisions. Instead of starting with a product catalogue, it starts with the job a person needs to get done: finding a suitable item, considering whether an existing or second-hand alternative could work, and organizing the ideas into a practical list.

The person behind this project has a background in cross-border product development. That experience informs the tool’s focus on product requirements, listing differences and the gap that can exist between a product label and a shopper’s real need.

This is an independent shopping-planning tool, not a retailer, product-testing laboratory or safety-certification body. Search phrases and alternative ideas are starting points. Check the actual listing, seller, product documentation, delivery terms and applicable safety requirements before buying.
